So it seems Daniel’s “abomination of desolation" referred to the desecration of the Temple by Antiochus iv and also by Rome in 70 ad, but also prophecy to the end-times? Am I getting it right?
I'm not sure I'd say that. I tend to think that what scripture/writers do is use imagery or language from previous passages that resonate with a current moment. I am not big on using scripture in terms of "prediction," be it either primarily, secondarily, or tertiarily. I moreso tend to see scriptural prophecy as "forth-telling" rather than "fore-telling."
