I remember earlier in my faith how I’d get all excited when there was some archeological discovery or something that seemed to prove the historicity of Biblical text. “They’ve found Noah’s ark!” for instance. I’ve mostly stopped caring about belief-validating discoveries. I don’t think that’s the kind of faith Jesus would want for us to have.
But the fact that Harvard found wisdom in living with a certain posture (as in, “THIS is the truth on which we stand”) seems closer to the kind of faith Jesus actually taught. It’s not about proving something true, but about living something good.
