What if the song is important too?

I think the song is important. I even think art & aesthetics are of essential importance (not that much of what comes out of the Church is great art these days). But the big bucket of sand that is worship music is generally distracting fluff that so many Christians assume is *the thing*. And it's not.

Jesus never even asked us to sing.

I see heart-song as a means of grace. The disciples sang. Matthew 30 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Of course music can be a means of grace. You identified the one time in the gospels that we know for sure Jesus sang. (The other two times in the gospels music is mentioned, it is in the negative.) We can imagine for sure that Jesus sang the psalms. Paul certainly sang and encouraged churches to do so.

But that's besides my point.

There's nothing wrong with singing. Unless it's the only thing the Christian does. Or the the main thing the Christian does.

Actions speak louder than words.

Going to church on sunday, does not absolve us from the consequences of our miserable behaviors all week long.

Cause and consequence.

We may have free will but we will get the bill!

THY WILL BE DONE!!

The laws of the universe cannot be broken.

The 10 commandments are a guide to a better life.

We were given paradise. And just look at our planet now.

Greed, arrogance and ignorance have once again taken over.

Globally this time around it seems. 🙏
